As I mentioned earlier I worked with Angie Ashe. She is a Dietician and Nutritionist that works with athletes. I am a golfer and wanted to work with someone who works with athletes and more specifically J-Pouch athletes. Angie is great and guided my mom and I in the right direction. https://www.eleatnutrition.com/meet-angie
I wrote that the Destination is the Same and The Journey is Different because our goal is Recovery. Depending on what you do and don’t do makes the journey to the destination different.
A VERY IMPORTANT THING IS……..DO NOT EAT THE FOLLOWING THINGS BECAUSE THEY CAN CAUSE DAMAGE AND/OR A BLOCKAGE
NUTS
SEEDS
CORN
POPCORN
PEPPERCORN (IN A GRINDER)
MUSHROOMS
OTHER THINGS TO STAY AWAY FROM UNTIL YOU GET THE OK FROM YOUR DOCTOR:
Citric Fruits/Citric Acid
Spicy Foods
Carbonation
Caffeine (Can cause dehydration)
Sugar
Fatty Foods
Dairy
Fried Foods
When you are introducing new food (anything is classified as “new” after surgery) give it 2 days per food that way you know if it agrees with you or not. If it doesn’t now….try it again at a later date.
Everybody and every body is different. Listen to yours. Slow and Steady WINS the Race. I did exactly what I was told to do and 60 days later I played in a 2 day Golf tournament. It is now 98 days later and I still have not regained all of my strength. I know when I need to take it easy. Now, I use a different strategy when playing. The Best advice I can give is, if you are tired…..REST & STAY HYDRATED!
KNOWLEDGE is POWER If I can do it..........YOU CAN TOO!
